My work stems from my deep belief that painting is one of the most sublime forms of expression. I explore and justify this claim by applying a synthetic, multicultural, and contemporary lens to my paintings. I believe that automatism and the whiplash brushstrokes are the right tools allowing the viewer to indulge in the beauty of norm-breaking. I create neurotic, abstract representations of parallel realities, filled with colors, movement, biomorphic figures, symbols, comedy, and tragedy. My paintings bridge a surreal, irrational, pleasurable memoir of the unconscious. I intend to offer an escape from the mundane routine and the necessity of making decisions.
